Burgess Hill Girls was established in response to local demand from parents in the year 1906. It was inaugurated under the guidance of Miss Beatrice Goode and her sisters Patricia and Ada with an aim to impart quality education to girls’ equivalent to what boys were receiving at that time. The school initially embraced the PNEU system of schooling which was set up by Charlotte Mason.

Burgess Hill Girls has flourished over the years and has succeeded in imparting education par excellence. This institution has never failed to consider the changing requirements of society as well as the needs of the students. The school has consistently maintained its position as one of the highest ranking schools in Sussex. The new teaching blocks and an addition of 14 acres to the school site are indicative of the journey that the school has undertaken towards outstanding academic performance, innovation, and development.
