Graduate Software Engineer (Full Time) - UK (Reading)

We are looking for talented Graduate Software Engineers to join our engineering team in Reading. 

Team Description:

We work in a fun and flexible environment, where we aim to let engineers lead the development. We encourage craftsmanship via test-driven development and test automation, learning via in-house training and openness, innovation via self-directed research and sharing.

Products are wholly developed within the Reading site, and are built on standard PC hardware, including diagnostics, written in low-level C, customized Linux operating system and OpenSource extensions, written in C, Bash and Python, shared platform services written in Python and Erlang, application code written in C++ and application services written in Python and Erlang. GUI interfaces are written using HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.

The development approach is Agile-like, with regular iterations, continuous integration and a focus on quality, using automated unit and regression testing. We offer engineers the chance to specialize in Web, Platform or Security areas or to move between teams and be involved at all levels.

What you will do:

● Create great collaboration experiences by writing good quality software on multiple platforms

● Be a key part of a high performing cross-functional scrum team. You will work closely with developers, test, design and product management during our iterative development cycles where product development is done from idea to finished article.

● Use state of the art hardware, technology, methods and tools, while learning from your talented colleagues

What you need to be eligible:

● In the last year of study or recently graduated from a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major such as Maths, Physics

● Due to receive a 2.1 or higher (B equivalent)

● Passionate about product development

● Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and software engineering with an aptitude for learning new technologies

● Experience with C/C++/Python/Java is desirable

● Possess creative problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting skills

● Comfortable with working in teams

● Excellent English verbal and written skills
